At John Stone we source all our beef from farms accredited under the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme. This ensures the highest possible standard of animal welfare, guaranteeing our cattle have as natural a lifestyle as possible. We are meticulous about ensuring our product is fully traceable and only comes from Irish farms with the finest natural environment, using only the highest quality in sustainable farming principles.
Our commitment to 'Origin Green', the world leading sustainability programme, ensures that we only work with Irish farmers whose cattle are 100% free from hormones to produce the very best beef.
Raised on small, manageable farms, all John Stone cattle have an abundant natural diet of grass and herbs in the summer and silage in the winter. A total of 300 days per year. They are treated with respect and have access to dry, comfortable shelter and fresh drinking water. This purely natural diet and healthy lifestyle is what adds to the meat’s marbling and gives it that rich and distinctive flavour.
