SUSTAINABILITY

OUR COMMITMENT IS ASSURED

We are committed to ‘Origin Green’, Ireland’s pioneering food and drink sustainability programme, operating on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and the full supply chain. This enables the industry to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets that respect the environment and serve local communities more effectively.

It also ensures that we only work with Irish farmers whose cattle are 100% free from hormones to produce the very best beef.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Carbon miles are kept to a minimum as cattle graze locally and during the few weeks when cattle may need to be moved indoors, feed is sourced usually from the same farm or from the immediate vicinity.

Our farmers use sustainable practices such as rotational grazing to better manage the grassland and naturally sequester carbon.

The Irish farmers we use are also part of the Sustainable Beef Assurance Scheme, which independently audits 800 farms every week to assure high standards in animal welfare, traceability and sustainable practices.
